Destroying cover crops without tilling the soil
The Faca Roller is designed to lay down and injure plant cover. The roller injures the plant but must not stir up the soil to prevent sprouting. To enhance the roller’s aggressiveness, it can be weighted with water or additional weights. It is equipped with 10 100x10mm twisted blades on a 607mm diameter roller. At the Ferme de la Conillais, we have set up a platform of plant cover to test the sensitivity of different species to the FACA roller. Here’s some cutlery that doesn’t stand up to rolling.
