The Burel Group completes the acquisition of Frandent and strengthens its industrial presence in Europe!

Usine Frandent

Groupe Burel, a French family business owned by the Burel family and chaired by Julien Burel, announces that it has finalized the second phase of its acquisition of Italian company Frandent, specialized in the design and manufacture of rotary harrows and haymaking equipment.

As of September 30, 2025, the Group becomes 100% owner of Frandent, based in Osasco, near Turin. This transaction marks a new stage in the 25-year collaboration between the two companies.

A historic partnership that has become a shared history

The relationship between Frandent and the Burel Group dates back to 2000, with the development of seeding combinations incorporating Frandent power harrows. Over the years, mutual trust and complementary expertise have transformed this partnership into a genuine industrial alliance. By 2022, Groupe Burel had already acquired two-thirds of Frandent’s capital. The complete acquisition, finalized in 2025, completes a gradual and controlled transfer process, in line with the vision of founder Ezio Bruno. “This acquisition is the continuation of a wonderful human and industrial history. Frandent shares our values of high standards, innovation and proximity.” – Julien Burel, Chairman of Groupe Burel, representing the third generation of family entrepreneurs. The group will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2026.

Complete integration for continuity and development

Frandent fully integrates the Burel Group, through its SKY Agriculture brand, while retaining its identity, its teams and its production site in Italy.

The brand will remain fully active, continuing to supply its historic network of dealers in Italy and abroad.

Frandent customers and distributors can rest assured:

  • Existing commercial and technical relationships are maintained,
  • Our usual contacts remain in place,
  • And Frandent power harrows continue to be manufactured in Osasco, to the same high quality standards.

“Frandent retains its identity and now benefits from increased development strength within a solid European group.” – Alessandra Berardo, appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Frandent, sees her role strengthened within the Burel Group.

Industrial investment to prepare for the future

Groupe Burel has also invested in the modernization and expansion of the Frandent production site in Osasco.

The extension, inaugurated in July 2025, will increase industrial capacity, improve working conditions and enhance the site’s performance.

This integration will enable :

  • Securing Italian production for the long term,
  • Strengthen the Group’s industrial and commercial coherence
  • And accelerate innovation for European farmers.

A long-term industrial and family vision

This acquisition is fully in line with the Burel Group’s “Farming Together 2” strategy, which places sustainability, cooperation and proximity to users at the heart of its development.

SKY Agriculture, a single brand resulting from the merger of Sulky, Sky and Prolog, embodies this vision: to bring together under a common banner all the Group’s industrial and agronomic know-how, in the service of high-performance, sustainable and collaborative agriculture.

SKY Agriculture invite their partners and customers:

  • At Agritechnica, to discuss this new strategic step
  • And in November 2025, at an open house organized at the Frandent site in Italy, to celebrate 25 years of partnership and a new joint industrial impetus.
